Million Dollar Fish was first held in 2015 to help boost visitation during the Tropical Summer, and continues to run annually.

Each year tagged barramundi are released across five main fishing regions – Tiwi Islands, Darwin, Arnhem Land, Kakadu and Katherine – giving registered participants the chance to win $1 million, as well as smaller cash prizes and much more.
