BASSINTHEGRASS: Local Artist applications open

Territorians with a musical flair are being encouraged to apply for a spot at this year’s People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS music festival, with local artist applications now open.

The event, now in its 17th year, allows two Territory artists the coveted opportunity to perform on stage alongside some of Australasia’s biggest names in music on Saturday, 18 May at Mindil Beach.

Northern Territory Major Events Company General Manager Tim Watsford said “We are excited to open local artist applications today and urge Territorians of all ages to throw their hat in the ring for the chance to take the stage at this year’s People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS music festival.

“This year’s event will be our biggest and best yet, giving local artists greater exposure and the opportunity to perform in front of music industry heavyweights from Australia and New Zealand.”

This year’s competition will be judged by an experienced panel, including Music NT Executive Director Mark Smith, Founder/CEO of Nook Events James Gough and Off The Leash Entertainment Reporter Tamara Howie.

Applications close at 5pm on Thursday, 18 April, with the two lucky winners to be announced on Thursday, 2 May.
