A Multicultural Celebration of Harmony in the Heart of Alice Springs

Big Day Out in Harmony is back, to celebrate Alice Springs (Mparntwe) as a living, breathing tapestry of culture, music, dance and connection on Saturday 31 May.

Presented by the Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia, Alice Springs Town Council and proudly supported by our Event Funding Program, Big Day Out in Harmony is the largest multicultural event on the local calendar, inviting multicultural groups and associations from across the region to share their culture with the wider community through music, dance, food and storytelling.

Now in its third decade, this much-loved celebration continues to grow, bringing people together to share stories, flavours and traditions from the many diverse cultures that call Alice Springs home.

The Alice Springs Town Council lawns will come alive with traditional dances, global music and hands-on workshops for all ages. Children can get stuck into cultural crafts while festival-goers can sample delicious dishes from around the world.

There will also be a special performance from L-FRESH The LION, one of Australia’s most powerful voices in hip hop. Known for his high-energy performances and uplifting messages of unity, identity, and cultural pride, L-FRESH inspires people to celebrate who they are and where they come from.

With plenty to taste and explore, it’s a day where everyone feels part of the big, colourful picture that makes Central Australia truly unique.

A free family event, Big Day Out in Harmony 2025 will take place on Saturday 31 May, from 12pm — 4pm, at the Alice Springs Town Council lawns.
