The Top End’s events calendar has been beefed up this month, with the BAR-BQ Lot Festival back bigger and better than ever. The free event will take place at Darwin’s One Mile Brewery on Saturday, 31 July, from 10am until midnight.
This year’s festival will have a strong local flavour, with a range of mouth-watering treats on offer from Darwin food vendors including Smokey J’s and ZZAN, plus One Mile Brewery beer-infused bratwurst sausages, ice cream and more.
Northern Territory Major Events Company CEO Tim Watsford said it was great to see the BAR-BQ Lot Festival returning this year.
“We’re proud to support this unique event that involves a range of local businesses, backs Darwin’s live music scene, and helps showcase the premium food and beverage offerings available here in the Territory,” he said.
“The BAR-BQ Lot Festival is one of many fantastic events that receive support through our Event Funding program, and they bring a range of social and economic benefits to our region.”
Beer connoisseurs will also have the chance to try some new One Mile Brewery tipples, with the local business creating a variety of new brews for the day. Kids are catered for with free fun activities such as a jumping castle, face painting, glitter styling and a dance-off competition with plenty of great prizes up for grabs. In addition, event organisers will be raffling off a Hark Chubby offset smoker on the day.
Some of Darwin’s best artists will be performing at the event, including The NEO, Bella Maree, DJ Tom, David Garnham & The Reasons to Live, and Barry Brown and the Getdown.
BAR-BQ Lot Festival Organiser and One Mile Brewery Director Bardy Bayram said this year’s event was shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before.
“Our team is passionate about supporting local and we’re stoked to be showcasing some amazing local produce and entertainment as part of the BAR-BQ Lot Festival this year,” he said.
“There’s something for everyone at this free event, so round up the family, come down to One Mile Brewery and enjoy some of the incredible offerings from local businesses and musicians.”
This event is proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government through the Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC). For more information, head to www.onemilebrewery.com.au/bar-bq-lot-festival.html.
