Following a record-breaking year in 2021, BASSINTHEGRASS is back for 2022 with an outstanding line-up of award-winning artists set to perform at Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach on 21 May next year.
An epic line-up has been locked in for the all-ages music festival, with the below artists set to take the stage (in alphabetical order):
Northern Territory born-and-bred pop icon, actress and musician Jessica Mauboy said she was pumped to be returning home to Darwin for BASSINTHEGRASS.
“I can’t wait to see you all and perform live with my band at Mindil Beach,” she said.
“I have missed performing live and I’m looking forward to singing some of your favourites and new music too with you all soon.”
Australian DJ Hot Dub Time Machine also couldn’t wait to head up to Darwin for the Territory’s biggest and longest-running music festival.
“I really love BASSINTHEGRASS. I played it a few years ago and it’s such a rare festival that has such a lovely atmosphere – there really is no festival like it in Australia,” he said.
“I love coming to Darwin to perform because it’s so different. It’s all the same down south, so it’s great to come play in a totally different place. Plus, the crowds are always so good!”
Also on the 2022 line-up are Australian singer-songwriters Xavier Rudd and Vera Blue.
“I’m pumped to be returning to Darwin after more than 10 years for BASSINTHEGRASS. It’s gonna be fire,” Xavier said.
“I am so excited to be back in Darwin to perform to my wonderful fans again,” Vera said.
“It’ll be such a wonderful time at BASSINTHEGRASS and I’m busting to get out on stage and play some new music.”
The hugely popular event returns to the Top End of Australia following a successful 2021 instalment that attracted over 14,000 music fans from all over the nation to the Territory’s capital.
Heading up the promoter responsible for delivering BASSINTHEGRASS, Northern Territory Major Events Company Chief Executive Officer Tim Watsford said he was thrilled with the results of this year’s music festival and looked forward to delivering another stellar event in 2022.
“With such an epic line-up, next year’s BASSINTHEGRASS is going to be huge,” he said.
“We can’t wait to welcome back music fans from around Australia and show them just how incredible BASSINTHEGRASS and the Territory are.”
Music fans can also take advantage of a fantastic Virgin Australia ‘Seek adveNTure’ flight sale until 19 November, offering discounted flights starting at $159 from most capital cities to Darwin. Travel periods vary, but all include the date of BASSINTHEGRASS 2022.
