Avoid the scrum and grab a discounted ticket for the NRL clash between the Parramatta Eels and League power club the Brisbane Broncos, with a special Black Friday deal on now.
Set to take place on Friday, 21 April 2023 at Darwin’s TIO Stadium, the blockbuster event will bring some of the game’s greats to the Territory, and encourage interstate fans of the two opposing teams to make the journey to the Top End to cheer on their heroes.
The match is part of a long-running partnership between the Northern Territory Government and Parramatta Eels, which began in 2014 and delivers a range of benefits for the Territory. The partnership was recently renewed for another three years, securing top-flight League action in the Top End until at least 2025. The Broncos faced the Eels in Darwin in 2021, and the game drew a massive crowd of around 12,000.
NT Major Events Company Head of Events and Operations Coryn Huddy said next year’s game is shaping up to be a blockbuster. “There’s no denying Territorians love their sport, and we have plenty of Eels and Broncos fans up here in Darwin, as the turnout to the last game showed. Next year’s game will no doubt draw an equally enthusiastic, vocal crowd cheering the players on as they tackle each other for glory,” he said.
“The NRL teams also get involved in the community while they are in town, which provides opportunities for local sports fans and upcoming Territory League players.”
Parramatta Eels Captain Clint Gutherson said the NT round is one of the first the players look for when the NRL draw is released. “We really appreciate the local fans who always show up to support us and we know the atmosphere will be amazing for our big game against the Broncos,” he said.
