Event organisers in the Territory are being encouraged to apply for the latest round of the Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC) Event Funding Program (EFP) as soon as possible, with applications closing next week.
The latest round of the EFP includes four categories, with multiple-year funding now available across Community Event Funding, Event Development Funding, Mass Participation Event Funding and Major Event Funding.
Offering additional certainty for event organisers, the new multiple-year funding model allows successful applicants to better plan for the future and longevity of their event, and also reduces administration times and costs.
NTMEC CEO Tim Watsford said the company was proud to deliver the program on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, knowing the significant benefits events bring to the Territory’s events industry and economy.
“The Territory is home to some incredible events from the Top End right down to the Red Centre, and I look forward to seeing even more come to fruition as part of our Event Funding Program,” he said.
Since its inception, the EFP has played an important role in bolstering the Territory’s events sector by increasing the quality of events and festivals, and upskilling industry stakeholders. In addition, the program has helped increase visitation by attracting more interstate visitors to the Territory to enjoy the incredible events calendar.
