With just one month to go before the highly anticipated MXGP of Australia roars into Darwin from 19–21 September, the full off-track program has been revealed, promising an action-packed weekend of rider signings, stunt shows, live croc and reptile encounters, unique food experiences, and kids’ activities.
On Friday, 19 September, following a full day of State Challenge racing, the Darwin Waterfront will host the first-ever MXGP of Australia Rider Signing Session from 4.30pm to 7pm. From 5.30pm, fans can meet the sport’s biggest starts from the MXGP and WMX categories, get autographs, have event merchandise signed, or snap a photo with the MXGP and WMX trophies and the 2025 MXGP Event Bike. Amongst others, top MXGP riders Maxime Renaux, Jago Geerts and Calvin Vlaanderen are confirmed to attend the rider’s signing, as well as prominent WMX racer Larissa Papenmeier. The free public event will also feature kids’ activities, jaw-dropping stunt performances from the Flair Action Sports Trail Bike Stunt Show, live music, and roaming performers.
The on-track action will run from Friday through to Sunday at Hidden Valley Motorsports Complex, as riders tackle a purpose-built, 1.6-kilometre world-class circuit. Off the track, the Territory will take centre stage, with a Million Dollar Fish activation offering giveaways, a reptile zoo featuring crocs, snakes and lizards, plus Flavours of the Territory, a unique culinary experience of local food. Stunt displays will keep the adrenaline pumping all weekend, and the Protraxx Kids’ Zone will keep young fans busy with interactive rides, games, and activities.
For the first time in 24 years, the FIM Motocross World Championship returns to Australia, with Darwin hosting the world’s elite riders and teams for the season’s electrifying finale, where three 2025 World Champions will be crowned.
“Fans will witness the crowning of the MXGP, MX2 and WMX World Champions in what promises to be a truly historic weekend for the sport,” said a representative from Infront Moto Racing, “There is no better stage to close an unforgettable season than here in Australia with its passionate fans and spectacular setting.”
Delivered by the Northern Territory Major Events Company in partnership with MXGP rights-holder Infront Moto Racing and Motorcycling Australia, this global sporting spectacular is a must-see on the Top End events calendar.
