New round of funding opens for Territory events

In exciting news for event organisers and event-goers across the Northern Territory, a new round of the Northern Territory Government’s Event Funding Program (EFP) will open on Monday, 14 July 2025.

Administered by the Northern Territory Major Events Company (NTMEC), the program supports a diverse range of events, from major sporting spectacles and music festivals to cultural celebrations and grassroots community gatherings.

These events play a vital role in driving economic growth, attracting visitors to the NT, supporting local businesses, enhancing liveability, and building a vibrant, year-round events calendar.

Event organisers can apply under one of three tiers:

  • Flagship – Events that deliver strong economic outcomes
  • Signature – Events focused on capability-building and development
  • Community – Events that celebrate the uniqueness of the Territory

In the last round, 16 events received support, including the inaugural Dusty Streets A-Town, the return of Blacken Open Air, and the Australian Polocrosse Nationals, set to take place in Darwin next year.

An information session will take place in Darwin from 5–6pm on Thursday, 10 July with the option for those not in Darwin to attend virtually. A representative from the Community Benefit Fund will also be present to provide additional guidance. To attend in person or online please complete the RSVP form.

Applications for Round 1 of the 2025-26 EFP will open at 8am on Monday, 14 July and close at 5pm on Friday, 8 August. For more information, visit ntmajorevents.com.au/funding-resources/funding-program or email ntmec.grants@nt.gov.au.
