Popular Red Centre festival Wide Open Space (WOS) has released the first line-up for its April event, and it features a swag of Territory and national artists, and a diverse range of performances, arts, workshops, and desert culture.
WOS will take place from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Ross River Resort in beautiful Arrernte Country.
Territory artists include Emcille X Kuya James, Eastern Arrernte Band, Eylandt Band and Jessie May & the Hay Days. The festival will also feature TEK TEK Ensemble, Spoonbill Ensemble, JessB, Half Queen, SubTribe, Kodiak Kid, Angus Green, Gus Heavy, Not Jen, Beatrice, Idle Minds Workshop, Hooves, JPS, Purple Patch, Xavia, Hey Harriet, Stellar Sea, Bec Barlett and Edward Francis B2B, Billsbry, Flim Flam, and Sam Stacka.
Festival co-director Jimmy Cocking said the 2023 program is as diverse as ever.
“We’re thrilled to have such a diverse range of artists. From TEK TEK Ensemble to Eylandt Band, we’re bringing together an incredible range of talent from across Australia and beyond,” he said.

WOS showcases a range of subcultures, styles and sounds, from cutting-edge electronic to live hip hop, deep acoustic meditations, and innovative music from around the world. Festival-goers will also enjoy burlesque, cabaret, spoken word, panel discussions, a themed garden party, interactive installations, roving performances, and more.
The festival’s picturesque setting at Ross River Resort offers camping onsite, safe kids’ spaces, amazing food stalls, market stalls, amenities, a pool, a historical homestead, and plenty of shady areas to relax and take in the spectacular views.
