Red CentreNATS, the ultimate festival of wheels, returns to Alice Springs from 2-4 September 2022, and Early Bird spectator tickets are on sale now in time for Christmas.
Last year’s event attracted almost 5000 unique attendees, who were responsible for almost 20,000 visitor nights in the NT. The event also generated a total expenditure stimulus in the Northern Territory of $7.25 million, of which $4.3 million was new money.
The 2021 event saw more than 1000 entrants make the pilgrimage to Alice to show off their pride and joy. Although entries for 2022 have only been open for three months, almost 400 car and bike fans have already signed up.
NT Major Events Company CEO Tim Watsford said Red CentreNATS is a unique experience for spectators and entrants alike.
“Set in the stunning heart of Australia, the event typically draws thousands of people from around the country to experience everything Red CentreNATS and Central Australia have to offer,” he said.
Red CentreNATS is unique as the only place in Australia where you can legally drive your highly modified vehicle on the roads, and the spectacle continues all weekend as drivers cruise the streets in their souped-up rides.
Summernats Co-owner Andy Lopez encouraged people of all ages to buy tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out on next year’s event.
“With elite cars, drag racing, burnouts, motorkhana, concerts, and an amazing street parade, the Red CentreNATS is an incredible event for spectators,” he said.
An Early Bird 3-Day Chrome Pass costs $50, the same price as the 2021 event. They won’t last long. Secure yours at www.redcentrenats.com.au.
